Media Anchors ban PEMRA notification suspended

The Lahore High Court has suspended the execution of orders of PEMRA regarding ban on guest participation in other TV shows of media anchors and issued notices to the federal government and PEMRA.news world ahmed

The Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and PEMRA has been made a favor by the petitioner at the Lahore High Court on the constitutional petition filed by Justice Shahid Waheed against the ban on guest participation as a media anchor in TV shows.news world ahmed

The petitioner took the stand in the petition filed that PEMRA October 27 banned the participation of analysts on TV shows.news world ahmed

The petition stated that PEMRA also banned TV anchors from being invited guests for shows, while PEMRA directives have also barred journalists from commenting on the topics covered on TV shows.news world ahmed

The petitioner stated that the PEMRA directive conflicts with Article 9 of the Constitution, which under Article 27 of the PEMRA Ordinance may prohibit any TV program in certain circumstances.

The petition requested that the PEMRA directive be suspended until the final decision and that the orders banning journalists from participating in TV programs be revoked.
